    Campbell R. McConnell earned his Ph.D. from theUniversity of Iowa after receivingdegrees from CornellCollege and the Universityof Illinois. He taught at theUniversity of Nebraska–Lincoln from 1953 until hisretirement in 1990. He is alsocoauthor of ContemporaryLabor Economics, eighth edition,and Essentials of Economics, second edition (bothThe McGraw-Hill Companies), and has edited readersfor the principles and labor economics courses.He is a recipient of both the University of NebraskaDistinguished Teaching Award and the James A. LakeAcademic Freedom Award and is past president ofthe Midwest Economics Association. ProfessorMcConnell was awarded an honorary Doctor of Lawsdegree from Cornell College in 1973 and receivedits Distinguished Achievement Award in 1994. Hisprimary areas of interest are labor economics andeconomic education. He has an extensive collectionof jazz recordings and enjoys reading jazz history.

    Stanley L. Brue didhis undergraduate work atAugustana College (SouthDakota) and received itsDistinguished AchievementAward in 1991. He receivedhis Ph.D. from the Universityof Nebraska–Lincoln. He is aprofessor at Pacific LutheranUniversity, where he has beenhonored as a recipient of theBurlington Northern Faculty Achievement Award.Professor Brue has also received the national LeaveyAward for excellence in economic education. He hasserved as national president and chair of the Boardof Trustees of Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honorary. He is coauthor of EconomicScenes, fifth edition (Prentice-Hall), ContemporaryLabor Economics, eighth edition, Essentials of Economics,second edition (both The McGraw-Hill Companies),and The Evolution of Economic Thought, seventhedition (South-Western). For relaxation, he enjoysinternational travel, attending sporting events, andskiing with family and friends.

    Sean M. Flynn did hisundergraduate work at theUniversity of SouthernCalifornia before completinghis Ph.D. at U.C.Berkeley, where he servedas the Head GraduateStudent Instructor for theDepartment of Economicsafter receiving the OutstandingGraduate StudentInstructor Award. He teaches at Vassar Collegein Poughkeepsie, New York, and is also the authorof Economics for Dummies (Wiley) and Essentialsof Economics, second edition (The McGraw-HillCompanies). His research interests include financeand behavioral economics. An accomplished martialartist, he has represented the United States ininternational aikido tournaments and is the authorof Understanding Shodokan Aikido (Shodokan Press).Other hobbies include running, travel, and ethnicfood.
